The research frame that beat the pitch
A Swiss digital agency serving healthcare organisations
The problem
Hospital and clinic decision-makers receive vendor pitches daily and answer almost none of them. The client needed real conversations with a tiny, finite market: there were only 125 accounts worth contacting.
The mechanism
The first email pitched nothing. It asked for a 20-minute expert exchange on how digital processes actually work inside healthcare organisations, with the aggregated findings shared back with participants.
The sequence was written in native Swiss-German, opening with "Sali", not translated corporate English. In a market this small, sounding local is not a detail.
A peer proof point entered only in email 3: 1 named clinic consolidating platforms. Evidence, introduced late, after the relationship had a reason to exist.
Small numbers, printed anyway: 125 contacted, 113 delivered, 27 replies, 7 interested. On a 125-account market, 7 open doors is coverage a volume play cannot buy.
